If you use the Avon Estuary to kayak, canoe, fish, moor, enjoy, then you need to be part of the new Avon Estuary Boatwatch. There is a great deal of value in boats and all the related equipment making the Avon Estuary attractive for more than just as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The aim of the Boatwatch scheme is to create a level of protection from crime that makes the enjoyment of the Estuary even more valued.

To get involved, come along to Timbers Car Park, just off the A379 beside the Tidal Road in Aveton Gifford, become part of the Police Messaging Scheme, get permanent Marking kits for boats and related equipment, and get stickers to make everyone aware of the scheme, and the area covered.

The scheme is to be launched on Satruday September 4th from 2pm until 4pm.

You can also join the Community Messaging service on-line at www.devon-cornwall.police.uk

Avon Estuary Boatwatch is a Community initiative created by Kingsbridge Police with support from Aveton Gifford Parish Council, Aune Conservation Association, AONB, Avon Estuary Forum.
