We start this week with a plea from little Titch the chihuahua and her owner who are new to A.G. They would like to go walkies with a new friend or two, to get to know some local people in the parish. Can you help this little doggie find some new friends? They can be contacted through the village Facebook page and would be very grateful for some company..
It’s Jazz time again next Tuesday May 1st . This months musical guests are the fabulous Storyville Jazz Band who last visited two years ago; they were very popular then and received a standing ovation for their performance.Their music is influenced by British Trad Jazz, especially Chris Barber who traveled to the Netherlands in 2014 to play with them on their jubilee tour. Their music will include a lot of popular tunes and old standards, definitely not an evening to be missed. The early bird menu will be on offer from 6.30pm, but booking will be necessary before 6pm on Monday April 30th . There is a choice of main courses and sweets; for further details, contact the Fisherman’s Rest on 01548-550284. Everyone is welcome, and there is a raffle, guests £10 on the door.
The Film Festival is nearly upon us and tickets are now on sale at the village shop adults £4 and children £!..but hurry because they are selling out fast! The festival takes place on Saturday May 12th from 7.30pm. The films are wide and varied and all sorts of people make them!
The Parish Council’s A.G.M will take place on Monday May 14th and all the village organisations will be making their reports and giving an idea of how they are doing. There will be a short Parish Council meeting starting at 6.30pm, followed then by the A.G.M. Everyone is welcome and there will be refreshments on offer too.
There will not be a service in St Andrews this week but there will be a Team Service at Ringmore, starting at 10.30am; everyone is welcome to attend, but if transport is a problem, please phone me as I might be able to help.
