The Arts Trail starts tomorrow – Saturday 13th October

Aveton Gifford and our Arts Trail exhibitors have made it into the Western Morning News. Fantastic to have such a lot of talented people here! There are 10 exhibitors in this village alone – more than anywhere else, and almost as many as Kingsbridge and Modbury combined! They’d all love you to visit them during the Arts Trail later this month, brochures are available in the shop. (The Trail starts on the 13th – this next Saturday, and finishes on the 28th.)

At the Fisherman’s Rest we have Kim Watkins whose work uses recycled paper and card, Sarah Harcus who paints beautiful landscapes using acrylic and pastels, Jane Parrish who is a landscape photographer, and John Ashton, well known in the area for his stunning wildlife paintings of our river. All of these works will be displayed in the pub’s lower bar.

We also have Caroline Barker, who has lino cuts and prints of local scenes, and also produces little hand made books of her work; she is displaying at her Stonecot gallery. Susan Luker is a Raku Pottery specialist also displaying at Stonecot.

Lucy Cassidy is taking part for the first time this year and she can be found at 17, Icy Park. Lucy works with vintage fabrics and frames collages. Sarah Anslow will also be displaying her collage work with Lucy.

Claire Williams is also displaying her landscape paintings at the Art Space in Glebelands, top of Icy Park hill.

And last, but definitely not least, our Stonemason Pippa Unwin, who will be displaying her work at Mewstone Masonry situated on the Avon Bridge, just as you are approaching our village.

This promises to be a most exciting Art Trail for us here in A,G this year, so  why not pop into the pub for lunch on your way around all these exciting venues?
