The village shop was broken into some time last night (Thursday night, or very early Friday morning), probably some time around midnight. It looks as if someone took two of the bricks from the forecourt of the old Post Office, and threw them through the window of the shop. Judging by the muddy footprints inside the shop they climbed in through the broken window, but left through the door at the back of the shop by the freezers.
If anyone noticed anybody either taking the bricks from the pavement outside the Herbert’s, or something suspicious near the front or the back of the shop on Thursday night, Dinah would be very grateful if you could let either her or the police know.
