The next Parish Council meeting will be held on the 11th of May because the first Monday of the month is a Bank Holiday. It will start – for this month only – at 6.30 pm, and will be a shorter meeting than usual because it will be followed by the Annual Parish Meeting at 7.30 pm.
All parish councils throughout England are required by law to hold an annual parish meeting. The purpose of calling this meeting is so that the Council can explain what it has been doing over the last year and it enables the electors to have their say on anything which they consider is important to the people of Aveton Gifford parish.
This year’s meeting will be held in the Village Hall on Monday 11 May at 7.30 pm. All village organisations are invited to present a report on their activities over the year. The Annual Parish Meeting is the occasion when we can all hear about the various activities, clubs and organisations that take place in the village. All parishioners are invited to come along, and light refreshments will be provided to those attending.
(If you are part of one of the clubs or organisations, and your group has not been contacted, please contact the parish clerk Peter Javes asap – Â peter.javes@btinternet.com )
