New bird hide on South Efford Marsh

In the last week Devon Wildlife Trust have begun to build the new bird hide down on the South Efford Marsh reserve. It will be built close to where the bomb damage to the walls during WW2 flooded a large part of the marsh, and this area has remained slightly wetter ever since. The hide will be built on higher ground here with viewing windows to both front and back, giving birders a view  over both the marsh and the river. There are also plans to improve the access path at the same time – however the weather at the moment will delay progress a little.
