The shop – an update on all the recent news

Peta’s family have now confirmed that the body found on Saturday’s search at Hope Cove is indeed Peta’s.
We would all like to send our deepest sympathy and condolences to her family and friends; we are all so grateful for her hard work, commitment and friendship since she came forward to run our shop, and she will be truly missed.

The family hope to be able to hold her funeral here at St Andrew’s some time in mid December, to be followed by a wake at the Fisherman’s Rest.

It’s been a very sad time here in the last couple of weeks, and at last there is some more positive news to give to you all. The shop committee would like to let everybody know that Jas and Sukh from St Ann’s Chapel have now taken over the shop and Post Office. They have already been a huge help and support during this extremely difficult time – we’d all like to send them our thanks and to extend a really warm welcome to them now.

There is one more enormous thank you that we ought to give as well – to the shop committee. They have all worked extremely hard in the last couple of weeks to keep everything for the shop and our vital Post Office up and running, often in the most difficult of circumstances, and now a seamless transition over to Jas and Sukh. Thank you so much to all of you, and Catherine and Jenny, and all of the volunteers who also came in to help – we’re very grateful to you all.
