Village Voice by Rosie Warrillow, 17th May

Firstly this week the question is do we have some green fingered people in our village? If the answer is yes, then our school would like to hear from you.. There are some planters at the school that need a bit of TLC and general maintenance, and the PTA is looking for some volunteers to help with this project. The cost of the plants would be met by the school, its only your time that they are after, so if you are interested please contact Hannah Winzer of the PTA at the school.

Our shop is planning an extravaganza in the village hall on Thursday May 30th between 6-9pm.There will be all sorts of entertainment planned including a live band, and a barbeque. There will also be free wine tasting and free nibbles too. The work of 10 local artists will be on display, there will be face painting for the children, and the wares of 20 local suppliers will be on display, and tea, coffee and biscuits will be available; everyone is invited to come and see what’s going on.

We have some good news too, May the cat as been found! She went missing from her home in Icy Park but now has been reunited with her happy owners, well done to everyone who looked out for her.Should the little monkey do it again, she is black with a white bib and wears a pink collar.

Hopefully with this weeks warm weather, our pool will be ready for action, don’t forget that the last of the training courses is at the Fishermans on June 5th 7.00-8.30pm. A deposit of £10 is payable but that will be knocked off the final price of a key.. All key holders must take a resussitation course..

Tesco’s is supporting three charities every month and A.G primary schiool is one of those charities this month, so please support our school – funds are needed particularly for the play equipment.                                                                                                                                                                              Foster families are needed for foreign students visiting us this summer term. They will be based in Kingsbridge so if you are interested in having these young people stay and help them improve their English this is indeed a good way of doing it.The students will go on educational visits with their teachers, and will be aged between 12-16 years – are you interested? Then please call Jo on 07770863948 or go to the village website for more details.

This week St Andrews is having a Sunday Worship service with Michael Tagent starting at 11am, everyone is welcome to attend and refreshments will be served at the end of the service.
