This coming weekend the Deer Wood Trust will be having an open weekend starting tomorrow Saturday 20th April., to walk through the woods to enjoy this most beautiful time of year. The start attraction will be, of course, the most lovely display of bluebells, a sea of blue is promised! Also last year’s event saw the oportunity to sample some wild food, freshly foraged from the lovely surroundings! People are welcome to bring their dogs as long as they are kept on leads and clearing up takes place. Further details and updates can be obtained on the trusts facebook page.          

The meeting to discuss what sort of play park we would like in the future will be held in the Fishermans Rest on Thursday April 25th at 7.30pm in the lower function room . If you are a parent or carer of school age children you are welcome to come and give your views on the play park, its future and maintenance.Any ideas on the type of play equipment needed will be very much valued, climbing, swinging or zip wire? The choice is
yours!

This years Film Festival will be taking place in October this year, not in the usual spot in  May, so there’s plenty of time to get filming. All flims must be  about 5 minutes long and be suitable for family viewing. More details will be published nearer the time. 

The Village Annual Meeting will be held on Monday May 13th in the village hall at 7.30pm . Local clubs and organisations are invited to send reports to the parish clerk Peter Javes or to attend the meeting in person to give their report. This meeting is a useful indication as to how our village organisations are doing and there will be refrehments available, everyone is invited to attend, there will be  short parish council meeting preceeding the annual meeting starting at 6.30pm The later date is due to the local and parish council elections.                                                                            

St Andrews will have a Good Friday ‘Way of the Cross ‘ parade today, starting at 10.30am ,starting at the Fishermans Rest. Everyone is welcome to join in and enjoy the journey up to church. The  parade will stop at various places along Fore Street for readings, and the cross will be erected at Tree Corner. On Easter Sunday St Andrews will have a Holy Communion by extension service starting at 11am led by Reader Michel Tagent.
