Its nice to start this week with some lovely news about our youngsters in A.G school. On Monday 5th February, some of the youngsters travelled to Kingsbridge Leisure centre to play in a tennis tournament involving 6 local schools. After some hard fought games ,our four youngsters came in second! So well done to Angus, Arlo, Jay and Hazel for a splendid effort!
Our W.I ladies were treated to a very unusual and interesting talk at last weeks meeting. Local lady Helen Phillip joined the ladies to talk about musical sounds used for relaxation and for therapeutic applications. Helen brought some of her wonderful drums and chimes and gave a most interesting demonstration of how the instruments had an effect on mood and relaxation. The therapy can also be used to help youngsters with learning difficulties, the sounds were just amazing.. Helen is at the moment studying for a diploma, and also plays at local events such as the Fete last year. All the ladies enjoyed the evening and had the opportunity to try the instruments for themselves. Helen received a rapturous round of applause, Ann Neale gave the vote of thanks and the Tea hostesses were myself and Meg Brett. Next months meeting is on Thursday March 8th       , the talk will be about Walking in Italy.
