Village Voice by Rosie Warrillow, 10th May

A local supermarket supports three local charities and organisations each month and this month our Primary School is one of the organisations named in the coin dump plastic bins. If you don’t usually use the shops in Kingsbridge , this could be a good  time to switch. A plastic coin is handed out for every £5 spent. We do have a playground project about to get underway and any funds that could be donated will be most welcome. The scheme will run until the end of next month, so please shop and save for our community.

Our Community Pool is now ready to use (almost) when the water temperature rises enough to reach the magic 21degrees, so it’s nice and balmy to swim in.,Last year with the extrodinary weather the pool saw heavy use, this year there has been a great interest once again. Training courses have been arranged for the key holders,.The last training course will be held in the Fishermans Rest on June 5th from 7-8.30pm . Membership is restricted to those who live in the Parish or have children at AG primary school. The pool is fairly small, hence the membership restrictions. There are a lot of people who have helped and donated their time to prepare the pool for use – the changing rooms have been painted and all loose paving stones have now been fixed, and new steps have also been fitted.. The whole area has been given a facelift and looks very good now. Thank you too everyone who has been available to help, especially Peter Smith who has spent a lot of time co-ordinating with the pool maintenance people and has spent a lot of his time renovating the pool area.Well done to all of our pool volunteers, you are amazing!
