Village Voice by Rosie Warrillow, 11th April

Following guidance from the Joint Panel on Accountability and Governance (JPAG) all of the Parish Councillors have now adopted a dedicated email for any parish council related communication. These new email addresses make use of our website domainan  aveton-giford.co.uk. It’s name first ie. rosie.warrilow@aveton-gifford.co.uk simply put the name of the councillor you wish to contact then the web address. This email is for council buisness only for personal contact please you the councillor’s personal email address. Following Sarah Harcus moving to another parish, Mrs Ros Brousson was duly elected chair at the February Council meeting.                                                                                               

The W.I ladies meet this evening(Thursday) at 7.30pm in the village hall and the guest speaker is David Stevens, editor of our village magazine the mAGpie. David will be talking about how the magazine is put together. There will be tea and biscuits served after the meeting with a question and answer session. The usual competitions will take place  ie Flower of the month.                                                             

The village hall has two table tennis tables available for hire together with the bats and balls. Have fun and come and play! The hall Committee is also looking for new members and also any volunteers who would like to help with simple maintenance tasks in the hall I.e painting the doors? The community pool is planning to open on Saturday May 25th, providing the water is up to temperature. Six Resuscitation courses have been booked in the village hall on the following dates Thusday April 18th and Thursday April 25th at  07.30,  Saturday 27th and Saturday 11th of May at 09.30, Thursday 16th May and Thursday 23rd May at 07.30. Further details can be seen online at the village website and bookings will go live on Saturday 6th April.                                                                                                 

St Andrews has been welcoming some visitors during the Easter Holiday period, a joy to see some new faces! The church will have a Sunday Worship service led by the team Curate Rev Ollie Long. The service will start at the usual time of 11am and all are welcome to attend and there will be refreshments after the service.
