Village Voice by Rosie Warrillow, 11th October

If there is one good thing about the approaching winter time it must be that it’s also Soup and Puds season too. This year’s regular intake of delicious home-made soups and scrummy puds starts tomorrow in the village hall from 12.30pm -2pm. Our hard-working lady volunteers will be hard at it creating these lovely dishes and all the money raised will go to our village hall maintenance fund. Everyone is welcome to come and join in, why not bring some friends? At £5 each its good value and has a lovely feel as community gets together with visitors.

The Arts Trail will be starting on Saturday too with six local artists taking part. Following last years great success the Fishermans Rest will have artists displaying their work in the lower room at the pub. Claire Williams is preparing her gallery for the event at Glebe lands Art Space. There are many events to visit in the South Hams over the coming two weeks until October 27th, why not have an arty tour of our beautiful area?

Our shop is now reverting to winter opening times at the weekend with the shop opening from8.30am-3 on Saturdays, 8.30am -1pm on Sundays. The shop will then open from 8am -6 weekdays and being closed for the lunch break on Mondays and Thursdays. The shop will be pleased to accept orders for Christmas Hampers and will have a full range of gift wrap for this very special time.

St Andrews is having a Harvest Communion with Rev Matt Rowland this Sunday October 13th. The service starts at 11am and there’s a Bring and Share Lunch to follow the service. There will be a children’s Group in the Lady chapel with activities organised by Mary and Caroline. Once again everyone is welcome to come and join in.
