Village Voice by Rosie Warrillow, 13th December

Local Yoga teacher Stephen Harding has a few more classes in the village hall, starting at 7pm on Tuesday December17th . Stephen’s friendly approach has proved popular recently with our WI ladies when he was kind enough to demonstrate technique, ideally suited to beginners. Those interested can just call in on the night, and there will be a discount for those who wish to book future sessions.

The village shop is now taking orders for some festive goodies. Everything you could want for the most wonderful time of the year can be ordered through our local shop. Why not pop down and discuss your requirements with Jas and the shop team. The shop also now has a suggestion box for ideas on what we want to see in our shop, or maybe things that maybe could be different? Please contribute your ideas and we can all help our shop at this most busy time of the year. The shop is also having a complimentary nibbles and drinks event in the shop building on Friday 20th between 3-5pm. Another opportunity to come and chat about the future shape of our community shop.                                                                     The funeral of Peta Harper will be in St Andrews church at 2.30pm,  tomorrow could those mourners who live locally please walk, and cut the numbers of cars heading towards our church? Church members will be on hand to help with the parking but places are limited, so please help in this way. Thank you.

Soup and Puds will start at 12 noon tomorrow to cater for those who wish to support this fundraiser for the hall and go to the funeral. The ladies will provide delicious home-made soup and puddings, three varieties of each, for the usual price of £5 for adults and £2.50 for children. All proceeds will go towards the upkeep of our village hall.

St Andrews will have a Family Carol service this week featuring lots of favourite carols, the choir singing and the handbell ringers will be entertaining the congregation too. Everyone is welcome to come and join in and there will be mince pies and coffee afterwards in the refectory.

The funeral of local resident Doreen Tarr will take place on Friday 20th December at 10.30am
