St Andrews had a change of plan last Sunday when unfortunately our poor vicar Rev Matt Rowland and his family went down with Covid. A contingency plan was hatched and Ordinand in Training Frances French took the reins for a Sunday Worship service. Well done to her, a spur-of-the-moment talk which went very well with the congregation based on Psalm 22; not an easy read for congregation member Bob Burr, who read it in a most excellent way, his clear voice resonating around the church. Families worker Sarah took charge of the little ones in Kids Church, a regular event on the second Sunday of each month. Much fun was had with mime, drawing and singing with actions! Our Vanda played the organ to her usual high standard and Rev Barker helped everyone with his ukelele playing.
A word from Rev Neil, he was paddling up to the weir and has reported some large logs creating a hazard for water users, please approach this area with care, you can pass but care is needed.
St Andrews will have a Holy Communion service with Rev Neil this Sunday at 11am, all are welcome to attend and there will be refreshments after the service.                                                                                                          Â
