With the recent inclement weather it really does seem hard to think of spring coming and better things to come. Well the sun did come out for some of us this week, and there was a beautiful rainbow to see too. And what does this make you think of? Why cricket you cry! A.G’s band of loyal cricketers will be celebrating their annual dinner at the Fisherman’s Rest on Saturday 30th January. All members should have received the menu via email by now, which displays some very tasty choices. There are three different choices of starters, 4 main course choices and 3 sweets, including vegetarian options – please can you take your completed menu forms into the Fishermans by January 23rd, and I believe there are some menu’s behind the bar for those without email facilities. On the day folk are meeting at 7pm for drinks and the dinner will be served at 7.30pm. This year Peter Shephard will be giving the speech, no doubt sprinkled with cricketing anecdotes, and of course there will be this year’s prize giving too.
If you are still suffering from too much Christmas pud and general over indulgence over the festive period, there is a new Zumba class starting up in the hall on Thursday mornings. The class starts at 9.15 for an hour of musical exercise, the price for each session is £5, so come on down. Hannah Winzer is running the class and for further details contact her on hannah.quack2@gmail.com.
St Andrew’s is having a special service celebrating weddings and christenings this week. The service will start at 11am, please come and share the memories of your special day, and celebrate the family theme in church.
