Village Voice by Rosie Warrillow, 19th January

We have a road closure at Icy Park and Glebelands for this week until January 24th. I have spoken to Western Power Distribution and they have assured  me that there will be adequate provision made to acess the two estates during the works. The closure is in place from 9.30am-3.30pm each day and the road team will be pleased to help in any way they can but there is a possibility of delays in entering and leaving the two areas. There is  phone number on the board at the top of the hill 0800 365 900 to get in touch with WPD.

Well its been a while, but dog poo has to be mentioned again this week! There have been a lot of instances where people have not picked up after their pooch and our lovely  village green and the footpath beside the A379  have become somewhat  dumped upon! It’s disgusting in this day and age that folk don’t pick up, please have pride in our area and stop leaving it in such a mess, there are poo bags on each end of the village green so there’s really no excuse.

There will be an exciting evening of entertainment planned for celebrating Burns nIght at the Fishermans Rest on Wednesday January 25th. A special meal is planned with the usual Burns night fun. The meal will cost £22.95 with a donation from sales going to the Devon Air Ambulance. More details are available from the pub on their facebook page or by phoning them on 550284.

St Andrews has a Holy Communion service with Kids Club this Sunday at the usual time of 11am. Everyone is welcome to come and join in the fun with families worker Sarah. Rev Matthew Roland will be leading the service. The following Sunday, January 29th, is again a Team Service with members of all of our Benefice churches coming to worship in our community. The service will start at the slightly earlier time of 10.30am. Refreshments will be served after the service.
