If you are getting out and about during the Covid-19 crisis it’s interesting to know that the Ordnance Survey organisation has some good information on their website that helps to show what to do, and where to go on day outs etc. It’s about keeping safe and active outside, and brings together current advice from the government, local authorities and other outdoor organisations. Just put in your location and search by the type of activity you wish to take part in, and it gives you the latest guidance with things to remember, and then signposts activities in your area. A great resource, and help for all of us who love the outdoors.
Libraries will start a phased reopening from July 6th, the buildings have been closed since the beginning of lockdown, but many services have continued online, and there has been a significant increase in the use of digital services. To start with, there will be a contactless click and collect, and then a pilot scheme of four libraries with limited public access. Initially there will be reduced opening hours and of course social distancing.
Some brilliant news about our local shop, they are extending the opening hours this week. The shop will now be open from 8.30am-5.30pm on weekdays and 9am until1pm at the weekend. The Post Office counter will also match all these times, except on Sunday when, please note; there is no Post Office service available at all. How lovely to have longer hours at our shop!
Oh dear! It seems that a lot of us are now using face coverings but unfortunately, some of the ones that have been discarded are ending up in the hedgerows and they are not recyclable. Please dispose of these items thoughtfully and place them in the grey bins, thank you.
All of our village businesses are continuing to do a wonderful job in serving our community, keep looking at the village website/Facebook page for the latest information. Well done to everyone and keep up the good work.
