Firstly I hope everyone had a lovely Easter break in spite of Hurricane Katie wreaking havoc amongst us. Next Tuesday, April 5th is Jazz Club night, and this months featured artists are the Frog Island Jazz Band, formed originally in 1962. They will feature classic New Orleans style jazz, and have some very well known group members; Keith Durston, piano; Jim Hurd, clarinet; Dave Price, banjo; Rob fullaove, tuba; John Whitehead,  cornet; Chris Merchant, drums; and John Jeanes on trombone. This forthcoming jazz extravaganza promises to be a very exciting evening and has a lot to live up to after last month’s excellent performance by Pete Allen’s Band. So be at the Fisherman’s on Tuesday at 7.30pm for a real treat in store.
It may seem a long way off, but this year’s Village Show will be held in the village hall on August 13th., so get growing and see if we can’t improve on last years very high standards. Nearer the time schedules will be available from the village shop. Please contact Jenny Reynolds for further details.
A while ago I mentioned that we were going to have a Zumba Class in the village – well I’m pleased to announce that Hannah will be holding another class, at the Fisherman’s this time, on Wednesday evenings between 6.30-7.30pm. All her clients in the Thursday class are doing well, so why not try out this new class starting on Wednesday 13th April. All abilities will be catered for.
This years A.G film festival is now just two months away and will be held in the village hall on May 21st, so if you haven’t made your film yet there is still time, as entries will be accepted until May 9th. You can find out more details on the village webpage and also on Surf Hams Collective’s website. Any subject can be tackled but it must be fit for family viewing!!
The village calendar photography competition is now underway, so keep your eyes peeled for photo opportunities this spring. The competition is open to all residents of A.G and all the children that attend school here. The competition closes on June 30th, so there is still plenty of time; Â maybe this year a stormy picture maybe appropriate! Â Further details are available from Dinah in the shop.
This week, St Andrew’s has a Sunday Worship service led by Michael Tagent; everyone is welcome to come and join in this family oriented service at 11am.
