Village Voice by Rosie Warrillow, 1st June

We start this report with some fantastic news about our vintage tractor enthusiasts work in fund raising for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust. When they started out they had a wish to support the Trust in a most unusual way, doing journeys across Devon and Cornwall and last year even attending the Royal Cornwall Show. All this wonderful work and in a vintage tractor known lovingly in A.G as The Beast whch John restored to her original condition! All that hard work has now paid off, excuse the pun, as when the boys started out many moons ago, they wished to raise £10,000 for the Trust. Well, in a celebration evening at the Fishermans Rest, the announcement was made that this incredible milestone had been reached and indeed surpassed!!. Well done to everyone involved in this project, I’m sure there will be more to come in the future.

On not such a cheery note, dog poo is back and some thoughtless people are just not picking up as they should! The path beside the A379 is like dog s…t  alley ,and the public green space is also similarly afflicted, and people are still hanging bags of the offensive material in bags off gates and posts. Please put your bags in the bins provided, also the Parish Council provides dog bags so this behaviour is really not necessary.

The Church and Village Fete is drawing nearer, and tickets for the Grand Draw are now available from myself and Joanna Smith, or at the end of service each Sunday. This Sunday St Andrews will have a Lay Sunday Worship Service starting at 11am, with refreshments served after the service
