The Jubilee Street car park is going to receive a bit of a facelift but the problem with that is that there are some trailers that have been left by the wall, some of which have been there a long time. If anyone can help identify the owners can they please get in touch with the Parish Clerk? It would be nice to clear up this area and make it more pleasing to the eye. There is an area down there that has been set aside to help invertebrates to have a nice home too, interesting and fascinating how the tiny creatures help to degrade waste green materials.

The funeral of Peta Harper took place last Saturday and St Andrews church was packed with friends and relatives of our former shop keeper. The service was led by Rev Matt Rowland and the first hymn was Morning has Broken. Peta’s brother Charlie Scott read the lesson from Mathew ch 11 and Peta’s mother Auriol Bradbury read a beautiful poem, Lost Soul..A moving Eulogy read by Peta’s sister Fee Scott detailing her life and her wonderful bubbly character and kindness and dedication to helping people. A recording of In This Heart by Sinead O’Connor was played and Rev Mathew gave the address and lead the prayers. Peta’s favourite song World of our own by the Seekers was also played. The final hymn was All Things Bright and Beautiful and final prayers were led by Rev Matthew.
St Andrews has a Family Carol service this Sunday with Children’s Group led by Mary and Caroline. The service starts at 11am and will be led by Rev Mathew Rowland, and all are welcome. There is no Christmas Eve service here in AG this year but there will be a Christmas Morning Communion again with Rev Rowland, starting at 11am . Everyone is welcome to come and join in, and mince pies and sweets will be available after the services. It just remains for me to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
