Och ae the noo! It’s Burns night on Tuesday January 25th and our friends at the Fishermans Rest have a special three-course menu available for the one night only; Scotch Broth soup, the crowning glory of Haggis, neeps and tatties, clootie pudding with custard or Edinburgh Fog. How lovely does that sound? The Fisherman’s has decided to donate £5 per person to the Great Tractor Run in aid of the Devon Air Ambulance trust, due to take place in the spring. A takeaway option will also be available. Scotch will be served with every order to toast the Baird! Please contact the Fishermans on 550284 for further details.                                                                                                                                                         Â

The Parish Council met last week and all of the local projects seem to be going smoothly. The grass on the village green is growing quite well now, the fencing is still in place to protect the young plants. The kiddies swings have been ordered to replace those which have passed their sell by date, these will be erected when the weather allows. The Icy Park play area is looking good after the refurbishment project and is proving popular with our youngsters. Neither of the District councilors were present so some discussions will take place at a later date. Much anger was felt in the room by local people who were concerned at plans to demolish a local landmark. The next meeting will take place on February 3rd in the village hall at 7.30pm.                            Â
St Andrews will have a Sunday Worship service this week at 11am, all are welcome to attend and there will be refreshments after the service.
