Firstly this week an appology from me for the absence of last weeks column. I had my emails hacked unfortunately, so I could not access my emails for several days until BT sorted it out, annoying, but these days a fact of life.
Firstly this week , there will be a Craft Fair in Kingsbridge featuring some of our local folk from Aveton Gifford. Local artist John Ashton will be featured and Meg Brett with her needlework skills. The Fair will be on this Thursday and Friday starting at 10am till 4pm.in the Market Hall in Fore Street, so why not pop in and see whats on offer?.                                                        Â

It’s also the Deer Wood Trust’s Bluebell weekend this weekend from Saturday29th -Sunday 30th; the Blubells will be on display and waiting for visitors. Please contact the trust by email thedeerwoodtrust@gmail.com to book a car parking space. They will also be showcasing some of their new courses in their well-being area, plus they will be showing off their new outdoor shelter too. Be sure to book as space is limited.  Â
All is proceeding nicely for the Coronation celebrations. The road closure will be in place and lots of happy volunteers will be doing all sorts to celebrate His Majesty’s accession to the throne. There will be a street party and barbeque and there will be an open air Church service on the rectory lawns .There will be a Coronation cake baking competition too, any design will be welcomed, crowns, polo ponies, dogs, or maybe if you are ambitious a Westminster Abbey perhaps, anything goes and the cakes will be eaten at the teas later in the day.                                                                                 Â
There seem to be some road closed signs popping up everywhere, and following investigations the ones at the bottom of A.G hill seem to be just a mistake as road closures can’t take place if other parts of the same road are affected. There will be partial road closures this month due to work on the bypass and the A379 towards Modbury, please check the times on the boards, its only partial closures. Hopefully we can all escape as per normal!
There will be no church service in St Andrews this week but there will be a Team Srervice at St Laurence’s at Bigbury which will start at 10.30am, all are welcome to come and worship.
