Village Voice by Rosie Warrillow 27th June

Our Village Show is taking place on Saturday August 12th in the village hall.. There are classes for all sorts of things, arts, crafts, flower arrangements, photography, so it’s not just about what people can grow but has a more rounded outlook to explore the talents we have here. The vegetable and flower sections are open to everyone, not just the allotment holders. There will be three trophys on offer on a points basis. There are classes too for our youngsters to show off their making skills, decorated buns, painted pebble, mini garden on a plate, so plenty for all to have a go at. The staging will take place from 8.30am-10.30am on the day, and after that the hall will close to the public for the judging. The hall will reopen for viewing at 2pm, and the raffle will take place at 3pm. At 3.30pm the prizes will be awarded and all exhibits must be removed after this. Good luck to everyone and keep growing!! Entry forms are inside the current edition of the Magpie and are also available from the village shop.

There is a Team Service in Modbury this Sunday starting at 10.30am, and the venue is the Memorial Hall due to St George’s undergoing a refubishment. I will be going so if anyone would like a lift please contact me on the above number or at home. I can take up to 4 people. There will be no service at St Andrews this Sunday.
