Our W.I ladies will be holding their regular event on the evening of Thursday February 10th at 7.30pm in the village hall. This will be an open meeting with local parish councillor Ros Brousson speaking about local history and she will be aided by lots of old photos of the local area, so anyone who would like to come would be most welcome. There will be refreshments afterwards and a chance to have a question and answer session with Ros too. Guests will pay £3 on the door for what promises to be a lovely local event and so interesting too! The ladies would also like to welcome any new members as their numbers are quite low these days, so this evening would be an ideal sampler. Â
Oh Dear, here we go again!! I must admit I do get fed up with people who don’t pick up after their dogs! I have dogs myself and it isn’t hard to do is it? Every time I walk my dogs, I do find the ‘leavings’ of other people and I do pick up any ‘extras’ that I find. It unfortunately seems that there is an increase in dog fouling on and around the kiddie’s play park /village green area and it’s particularly bad on the footpath that runs beside the A379 above the green areas. Please pick up your dog’s mess, don’t leave it for someone else to do, it can cause a real nuisance and much distress if trodden in. The Parish Council does provide bags so there is no real excuse!!                                                       Â
There will be no service in St Andrews this Sunday but there will be a Team Service in Modbury starting at 10.30am, all are welcome and I can give a lift to two more people if necessary just phone the number at the top of this report.                                                                                                                   Â
The next Parish Council meeting will be held on Thursday February 6th at 7.30pm in the village hall, come along and hear about all the local projects in our parish.
