Oh Dear here we go again! There is another phone scam doing the rounds, once again people, mostly elderly, vulnerable people are being duped into giving out their card details on the phone by these clever scammers posing as bank officials. They are sounding very convincing and folk in Devon have been affected. Please don’t give out your card and bank details over the phone, your bank would not behave in this way.                           Â
Our WI ladies enjoyed a very pleasant evening last week on Valentines Day. The guest speaker was local lady Kerrin Bunn and she gave a demonstration on how to make some wonderful Valentine treats. Kerrin made some lovely chocolate brownie hearts which she dipped in chocolate and she made some delicious mini biscuits. An eager audience couldnt wait to sample the fruits of her labours and the goodies were passed round the delighted audience. Next month our ladies are having an open meeting and the speaker will be Rebecca Weare from the Dementia Friends organisation. The charity is about learning more about Dementia, organising visitors for folk with the condition, and discovering small ways in which to help. This promises to be a most interesting evening and everyone is welcome to come. The ladies will provide refreshments and there will be two competitions, a personal memento and flower of the month. The meeting will take place on March 14th at 7.30pm in the village hall.                             Â
