Village Voice by Rosie Warrillow – 29th January

Let’s have some good news to start with! Jane Mann organised a Coffee Morning last week in aid of Diabetes U.K and I’m pleased to report that Jane and Sheila Starey had a really good response from villagers and visitors alike and they raised £250 for this very deserving charity. Jane has also recently completed a 630 mile journey around the South West Coast Path raising £1,200 for the charity too –  well done to her and all her helpers.

Not such good news; there have been more instances of vehicles being broken into whilst in the Village Hall car park. A van had its window smashed and power tools inside taken, and another van suffered an attempted break in but nothing was taken in that instance – the incidents took place between the 19th and 20th January. If you see anything suspicious please call the Police on 101.

The Parish will soon be required to produce a Neighbourhood Plan, and a consultation day will take place on Saturday the 20th February in the Village Hall, between 11am and 4pm. This Plan is required by the Government for all towns and parishes to help shape the future for all communities in the U.K. The Plan will cover future developments over the next 15 years, and community involvement is essential;  if you have something to say come along to the meeting, as without your help nothing can happen, and without a Neighbourhood Plan this community will have no say at all in the future plans which may affect it. If you want to help shape A.G’s future come and attend this special day, tea and coffee will be available all day, to ease the thought processes!! A new email address has been created, to enable people to contact the working group;     agneighbourhoodplan@outlook.com                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         This week there isn’t a service in St Andrews, but there will be a Team Service at St George’s in Modbury at 10.30am, where all the Churches in the team will be represented; the service will be led by Rev Barker.
