Well its a busy week here in A.G ! On Saturday we have the village fete and there will be  a wedding in the church too, how lovely. The  fete will be set up on Friday evening so if there’s anyone who would like to help the committee members put up the tents and set out the stalls, could you please be on the Rectory Gardens at about 5.30pm? Any help given would be most welcome! All the usual stalls will be on show, books, tombola, hoopla, coconut shy. There will also be a pets corner with baby animals, and the beautiful owls will be there too. A childrens entertainer will on hand to keep the little ones busy and of course there will be delicious cream teas and cakes in the village hall. The fete opens at 2pm. The wedding at St Andrews will take place at 1pm,the bride and groom having first wished to be married at Modbury but St George’s is having a refit, congratulations to the bride and groom,have a lovely day. Traffic wil be inctreased on Saturday with visitors to both events and parking will be at a premium. St Andrews will have an open air service this Sunday in the big fete marquee on the rectory gardens, it will start at the usual time of 11am and will be led by reader Gil Snook.                                       

It will be Swoosh week next Saturday July 8th and it will be taking place later than normal due to the tides There will be coaches coming from Bantham and there will be many cars travelling to A.G from early in the morning, so please take care especially  around the area of the river and old garage and on the bypass as the old cricket field will be used for parking.                                                            

The Fishermans Rest new opening hours are as follows, Tuesday 4.30pm-10.pm, Wednesday, Thursday, 12.00-10.30pm, Friday, Saturday 12.00-11pm, and Sunday 12-7pm. The kitchen is open from 12-8.00pm and on Sundays until 2pm. The pub is closed on Mondays except Bank Holidays.                                                                                                                                                                  

The Parish Council will meet in the village hall for their regular mointhly meeting next Thursday at 7.30pm, all are welcome to attend and share views on all the local issues.
