This coming weekend is our friends at Deer Wood Trust’s Open Bluebell weekend. Spread over two days, Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th of May. Such a colourful display to witness as hundreds of beautiful bluebells come into their best. Please email the trust on the deerwoodtrust.org.uk to book a parking place as parking is very limited.The Trust is also hosting Sounds in Nature, an acoustic singing day with Elise and Charlie on May 11th, set to chime in with the bluebell season!
The old Avon Conservation Associaton has now been morphed into another organisation, the Avon River Champions. The A.R.C has several new projects and activities planned centered around the river from Dartmoor to the Estuary More details are available on www.avon-riverchampions.org. The new organisation is looking to continue the litter picking days which had become quite popular in the village and became quite a sociable occassions. It appealed to all age groups and got rid of a load of rubbish from the river’s shores. A quick reminder that the next resuscitation course for the community pool is on Saturday 11th May at 09.30 in the village hall, please book online at the village website.
The village hall will be used for voting on May 2nd local elections, so the Parish Council meeting will take place the following Wednesday,, 8th May at 7.30pm. Why not pop along and hear the news from all the local organisations and give an opinion.
The next W.I meeting will take place on Thursday May 9th,. This will be the ladies AGM and games evening and will start at 7.30pm.
St Andrews will have a Sunday Worship lay led service on Sunday starting at the usual time of 11am with refreshments served after the service.
