Village Voice by Rosie Warrillow 2nd November 2023

A.G Film Festival is back in the running this year and it’s going to be held on December 9th at the Village Hall. What does a Film Fest need? Films of course!! Time to dust off the Directors Cap and the camera again folks, and produce some family friendly films for everyone’s enjoyment. Maybe a film of a favourite walk, family pets or maybe create a mystery in some creepy place? The possibilities are endless. In August the pre school had a raffle at the car show to raise money for the Hive. Parents and helpers mucked in to sell tickets at the end of the summer term and again at the car show. The Kreke family helped by drawing the winners, top prize being a Champagne Cream Tea at Burgh Island, wow! At the end of the event, £800 was raised for the new term , brilliant. Well done to everyone on a stirling effort.,The Hive provides some wonderful learning opportunities for pre school children why not contact them for news of places etc.

It’s hard to believe but next Sunday November 12th will be Remembrance Sunday once again. Our Act of Remembrance will start at 10.45am at the War Memorial and will be led by our new curate Rev Ollie Long. The names of the fallen will be read by a member of the Royal British Legion. The church will be open from early in the morning for people to gather. The lovely hymns and tributes will then take place in the church from 11am.

This week St Andrews will have a Sunday Worship lay led service starting at the usual time of 11am.
