What a beautiful day it was for Bank Holiday this year! And jut in time for A.G’S now famous Classic Car Show. Last year was a bit of a panic as it was so wet, but we had none of that this year with beautiful bright sunshine all day. The number of entries was just incredible as row on row of classic vehicles lined up on the Village Green, waiting for the eager visitors to tell them how beautiful they looked, and they really did! Rows of lovingly polished cars, motorbikes and vans and some magnificent old farm tractors too, a truly resplendent variety to keep even the most picky enthusiast happy.
A couple of years ago I reported on one gentleman’s beautiful motorbike and he was there again this year, this time with a classic red and white moped, it goes to show that our exhibitors do return on a regular basis. My favourite this year was a most beautiful Rolls Royce, I always did like the finer things in life! She really did stand out from the crowd with her bodywork amazingly polished, I wonder who had owned her in the past, could it have been someone famous? All these wonderful vehicles would have had a tale to tell I’m sure.
It was a lovely day with crowds pouring onto the show field well into the day, many of them visitors to our lovely village, and there was a lot to see around the field too with various stalls selling their wares to the willing public. The pub was open all day and cream teas were served in the family room, all in all it was a wonderful day out for all the family.
