Village Voice by Rosie Warrillow, 30th May

It’s Summertime and the weather has been suitably warm this week. It’s also fast approaching Church and Village Fete time, which is due to be held on Saturday July 13th at 2pm. As is usual the Fete committee are looking for volunteers to help with the putting up of stalls the night before fete day and any help would be much appreciated. The Grand Draw tickets are now available from church treasurer Mrs Jo Smith or from church after the services on Sundays. There are many lovely prizes, kindly donated by local businesses.

It’s the monthly Parish Council next Thursday,June 6th at 7.30pm. There will all the local news from the village organisations. Also there is still a vacancy on the council and any candidates could come along and see what it takes. There are no special skills needed and no real need to attend every meeting, everyone can have time off!! If anyone thinks they can help, contact the clerk Amy Clayton on the local website. There is also a need to find a replacement Pool supervisor for next year as Peter Smith, who has given excellent service over 10 years in this role will stand down in the Autumn. Again contact him or the clerk on the village website for further details.

St Andrews will have a Sunday Worship service on Sunday which will start at the usual time of 11am, everyone is welcome to attend and there are so refreshments after the service.
