Village Voice by Rosie Warrillow 31st August 2023

Well the Bank Holiday weekend has been and gone but what a great event we had on the Sunday with the Car show. There were so many people who had visited our community for the day  to view the wonderful vintage and veteran cars. There were also food outlets to sample and stall holders with everything from hand crafted gifts to pre loved clothing! There was a wonderful atmoshere and a chance to catch up with old friends  and enjoy a chilled day out. To the cars, so many eye catching cars from family favourites like the Morris Minors and of course the perenial V.W campers were there, but only one V.W beetle and boy was she souped up!! There were also a row of fantastic Panthers , all ready to excite the eye, the owner of one very kindly allowing a youngster to sit in and enjoy his pride and joy, well done to him! The Panthers were very exciting colours, misty metallic blues and smart silvers. There was also an outstanding bi-colour in blue and cream, so beautiful! There were a couple of incredibly brightly coloured Fords, in rally colours, orange and yellow! There was a lovey old mini with its chrome sparkling, and John Foales tractor The Beast was there too. There were some motorbikes but not as many as some years, the highlight for me was a very old combination, with a sidecar made from wood, amazing! Another favourite  for me was a Triumph Herald Vitesse, just like dad’s, amazing that all of these wonderful vehicles were looking so good and well loved and cared for, already I’m looking forward to next years event.

Just a reminder that Gigaclear will be working in the Jubilee street car park from August 29th -31st . Please be careful and patient as access to the car park could be resticted at times, and could lead to difficulty in getting in or out of the car park. The work is to replace a badly fitted cable over the brook.

St Andrews will have a Sunday worship service this week led by newly ordained priest Ollie Long, which will start at the usual time of 11am, all are welcome to attend and refrehments are available after the service.
