How the summer is going on! It’s nearly time for the Classic Car Show again and there is a need to have some more volunteers to help on the gates. It’s not an all day thing, the organisers are asking volunteers to donate just an hour of their time to help out.The show will be held on Bank Holiday Sunday, August 27^th from 10am in the morning until about 3.30pm if you can help please email the organisers( Rick Clayton) on avetongiffordcarshow@gmail.com. The car show is A.G’s only main fund raiser of the year and the proceeds go to young peoples projects in and around the village. Also needed for the show is anyone who can sell ice cream and anyone with First Aid qualifications to be there on the day, again if you can help please contact the organisers on the email given.    

Just a reminder that our village produce and craft show will be held in the village hall on Saturday August 12^th. The staging will take place early on the morning of the event starting at 8.30am-10.30am. After this time the hall will close for judging, and at 2pm the hall will reopen to view and see how things have gone for the exhibitors. There will be refreshments and a raffle too, raffle prizes wil be needed and donations will be gratefully recived by the organisers.Entry forms are available in the current Magpie and also from the village shop.

Just a heads up about a lovely event that takes place in Kingsbridge Library every Friday afternoon from 1-3pm. Its an adult’s games afternoon with games like chess,scrabble,cards, dominoes, cluedo and backgammon. If the weather isnt so good this week why not visit, sounds like fun.                

St Andrews will have a Sunday Worship service with Reader Gil Snook leading and it will start at the usual time of 11am and refreshments will be offered after the service
