Happy New Year to everyone, I hope the festive season was very enjoyable for everyone.
The Parish Council is still trying to contact the owner of an old trailer left in the Jubilee Car park. The trailer is rather old and has been left for quite some time, if anyone knows who it belongs to please inform the parish clerk, so that it can be removed. Thanks to everyone who has helped to identify the other trailers left in the area, much appreciated.                 Â
The Tidal Road clear up will be held on Sunday January 12th when the tide will be suitable. The aim is to remove plastic waste, paper, old carpets and remains of old boats and anything that really shouldn’t be down there. Any one can join in, you don’t have to be an ACA member. Please make sure youngsters are accompanied. Bringing a stout pair of gloves and a plastic bag for the rubbish are a must. The event starts at 11.30am at Timbers car park and lasts for about an hour, with the willing volunteers adjourning to the Fishermans afterwards, why not come and help keep our river beautiful?                                                                                                              Â
The next Parish Council meeting will take place on Monday 6th of January, at 7.30pm in the village hall. Everyone is welcome to attend to see many important issues discussed, including the Neigbourhood Plan, environmental issues and many of the usual topics. Reports from the County and District councillors will be heard, and of course plans for the new village hall.                                                                      Â
Kingsbridge Jazz Club will be holding their next wonderful evening of jazz on Tuesday January 14th starting at 7.30pm for the jazz ,but with the Early Bird diners menu starting at 6pm, at the Fishermans Rest; booking is essential to avoid disappointment. This month’s musical guests are John Shillito and his Riviera Ramblers. The style is New Orleans jazz with a strong sense of fun and interaction with their audience. The group has a wonderful strong ensemble sound, infectious rhythm and exciting solos, performing many well known and popular tunes. John is a popular and regular performer at the club and it’s thrilling to welcome him back with this new group formation.                                Â
AG’s WI will be meeting on Thursday January 9th at 7.30pm. The ladies meet every second Thursday in the month and would be thrilled to welcome some new members. Guests can attend at £3 each. There’s an interesting talk each month and two competitions, so why not come to join our ladies this month? Refreshments are served after the talk.                                                                                                               Â
St Andrews Church will have a Sunday Worship service Starting at 11am, everyone is welcome to come and join in.
