Village Voice by Rosie Warrillow 3rd March

The resurfacing of the main route through the village has been causing problems this week, especially for careworkers attending some of our more elderly residents. The good news is that this necessary work has now been completed and Fore Street has been restored to its former glory! The road had suffered many pot holes and damage due to roadworks over the past few years, with some really dangerous patches making walking as well as driving dangerous! Hopefully all this is in the past now with a new surface in place, but as some wag said to me this week, I wonder how long before someone digs it up again, oh no don’t even think about it!!.

The Parish Council will meet in the village hall tonight at 7.30pm. All the usual topics will be covered including the community pool, proposed new hall and potential housing projects. Please come along to see what’s happening and to hear news from all the village organisations, the shop, school, church and how the village proposes to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee with some joint projects being discussed.

Next week our W.I will hold their regular meeting with local lady Kerryn Bunn talking about, and demonstrating how to make some delicious Easter Treats, oh wow that sounds good! Kerryn has visited the ladies before and the result was very tasty indeed! The meeting will take place on Thursday, March 12th at 7.30pm in the village hall. Guests are welcome to attend and the ladies would like to welcome any new members. Why not come and try it out? Guests will be asked to pay £3 on the door.
