Village Voice by Rosie Warrillow 4th August

I was hoping to get away with not mentioning the dread topic of dog waste but sadly here we go again!! Dog waste on the ground is becoming a problem on our footpaths once more and really dosn’t help the dog owning public that a few individuals won’t pick up!! All the old favourite places are being dumped on yet again, the footpath beside the A379, the village green and still our churchyard, and last week on the communal green space outside my house!! Children play there so can we please stop this abhorrent behaviour, dog waste can spread disease in humans and farm animals, so please pick up after your pooch, I do have two of my own and the areas we walk can be eye opening for all the wrong reasons!!

I would like to thank everyone who looked out for my mischievious cat Raffles over the last couple of weeks! He did his disapearing act again and at 14 years old it was a worry. Sir likes to hunt in the fields and he just wasn’t seen by anyone, there were sightings, like the beast of Dartmoor, and eventually he came back on his own, what a story he could tell!! Thanks to everyone who helped by looking out for him.

The Fishermans Rest has a new extended seating area in front of the pub. There are some more tables and some attractive planters to help the visitor experience and the whole area looks really lovely! Well done for all the hard work guys and wishing you a busy holiday period!
