Oh Dear!! It seems that our village shop is in real danger of closing once again. Jaz and Sukh, who have been running it since the tragedy of last year have decided not to continue doing so. It needs us to support it, so please use it. There is a wide range of stock, everything you would need for a week’s shopping, and good value too! If we don’t as a community don’t use it, it will not be able to continue. A lot of hard work has gone into the running of our shop over the years since the old post office premises closed, then we had the container shop which morphed into the pleasureable shop space we have today, so please support this shop!! The shop committee also needs some help! They would like to get advice on specific areas of running the shop whilst setting up a new management strategy, could that be you? Call into the shop or more details if you think you have the necessary experience to offer. It will be open as normal through the Christmas break, only closed on Christmas Day and open until 1pm on Boxing Day                                                Â
The next Parish Council meeting will take place online next Monday, December 7th, please contact parish clerk Peter Javes if you wish to raise an issue at the meeting. Details to reach him are on the Parish council page on the village website.                                                                                                               Â
Young Phoebe from our community is orgnising a collection of toys for the Foodbank. She and her mum helped the organisation during the first lockdown and they thought if people could donate new toys it would be a lovely idea for Christmas. If you are able to help please take the toys to Garden Mill industrial estate in Kingsbridge units 1 and 2, please wear face coverings when entering the garage. The Foodbank supports over 200 families in the Kingsbridge area and needs our support for the festive period, everything is needed from food items, toiletries, baby food and even pet foods, please help and donate generously.                                                                                                                                  Â
Our church services are going to look very different this year with places for the Christmas Day and Christmas Eve services having to be booked online through the Mission Community website. Tickets can be booked individully or in groups of up to six. Sad I know, but social distancing rules have to be observed. I can also receive bookings at the above number. Church services will resume this Sunday at 11am.                   Â
