St Andrews Church is once again hosting a special childrens group this Sunday March 10^th. There will be some lovely activities for the youngsters to help with and lots of sticky glue. Again! The session will be run by Caroline and Mary, and any willing parents who would care to join in. St Andrews will have a Family Communion service which will start at 11am .

This week also sees the start of this year’s Lent Course, the first session at the Queen Elizabeth Pavillion at Modbury, starting at 4pm-5pm, on Sunday 10^th March. The other sessions in the series will take part all over the Modbury Benefice with the A.G meeting on the 17^th in church at the same time 4-5pm.. The rest of the sessions are as follows; March 24^th Bigbury Memorial Hall; April 7^th Ringmore, WI Hall; and the final one at Kingston Reading Room on April 14^th. All the meetings will be between 4-5pm.and everyone is welcome to attend.                                                             

Our lovely ladies of the WI will be meeting in the village hall next Thursday March 14^th,at 7.30pm . This months meeting is an open meeting which everyone is welcome to attend. The subject of the talk is Dementia and the Dementia Friends Charity is coming to give a talk on this most important subject, and give an insight on what its like to live with this distressing condition.There will be refreshments after the talk when a question and answer session will be held.                                                            

There is a vacancy on our Parish Council, anyone who is interested in joining the council should contact the parish clerk, Peter Javes on peterjaves @btinternet.com.                                                                 

There is still time to donate items for the refugees container. Summer clothing for men and women are needed, trousers, jackets, trainers etc, and also needed are tents, sleeping bags, blankets and of course all sorts of baby items, milk, nappies, baby wipes and toiletries for adults too. It still pains me to see the amount of dog poo that is not being picked up around our parish. Everytime I go out with my own dogs I feel obliged to pick up mess from people who don’t bother. The areas most badly effected are the village green, A379 footpath, our churchyard and the little field by the sewerage works. Can people please pick up the poop as its a serious risk to health and very unpleasent if walked in.
