Happy New Year to everyone! January has got of to a very soggy start but never fear Soup and Puds will be here, taking place in the hall on Saturday 9th. The last event proved very popular and lots of people came to enjoy homemade soup and delicious puddings. The hall will be open from 12-2pm, so come on down to enjoy! The £5 cost will go towards the Hall improvements and general running expenses of our hall.
Who can fail to be moved over the refugee crisis in Syria? Well there are some local collection points, if you still wish to donate winter clothing, tents etc for the refugees. The nearest one to us is at Champerknown in Modbury and the contact person is Nicola McKenzie, and items can be left on the front porch. There is also a collection point in Totnes at King George V house, but please call Nikki first on 07971 791922. The aim is to fill a container, which will leave from Plymouth, organised by the charity.
St Andrews has a Holy Communion service this Sunday and the church is pleased to welcome Rev. Michael Chatfield to lead. Michael has been here before, (Christmas last year) and he was very upbeat and lots of fun.Michael is a Chaplain in the R.A.F and visits here regularly with his wife and children. On the 17th of January, there will be a Songs of Praise in Church, celebrating the theme of Weddings and Christenings, so if you have been married in St Andrews, or have had your baby christened, why not join us in Church for a light-hearted look at these  core subjects? There will be readings and some favourite hymns to enjoy.
