The Project Group is to hold its A.G.M on October 16th in the Village Hall. This year by way of a change and following the huge interest at the Church Fete the group will be having a display of old photo and records of the Primary School. This provides an ideal opportunity to view again this wonderful display or if you missed it, a good chance to see it for the first time. The group will hold a drop-in afternoon on the 16th from 3.30 pm until 7.00 pm, the idea being to browse through the photos and information at one’s leisure. There will also be refreshments, tea and coffee and home-made cakes. There is no entry fee, and the group will be on hand to answer any questions about their activities, what the group is and what they do. At 700 pm the A.G.M will be held, and anyone wishing to attend will be warmly welcomed. The project group is open to everyone, membership is free and you don’t have to be on the committee to join in, so please come and support the group.
The school pool is now closed for the winter season. This year has been something of a learning experience, but on the whole the project has been a success. The keys which people have purchased can now be returned to Peter Javes for the refunding of your deposits. (Peter can be reached on 559283.) The keys are changed every year and cannot be used for a second season. Pool maintenance has been undertaken by Tim Abrahall and Peter Smith and both were thanked at this week’s Parish Council meeting for all the hard work that they have done in and around the pool project.
A.G fun run will take place this Sunday down on the green. All age groups are welcome, can children under 9 be accompanied please? The distance is up up to 3 miles.
The Tall Ships Charity day was a tremendous success last Saturday raising a whopping £2,240 for the charity. Thanks to everyone who helped on the day, it was a great day and everyone had a wonderful time whilst raising much needed funds for this wonderful charity.
