This week it’s time to remind people of some regular events happening in the village. The regular ‘Monday Club’ meeting takes place in the village hall every Monday afternoon between 2-4 pm. It’s a chance to meet and chat, and of course enjoy refreshments in a friendly atmosphere and anyone can join in the fun.
Down in the Fisherman’s Rest quiz evenings take place on the 2nd Thursday of the month, with the next one being on June 11th  gathering in the pub at 7.30 pm for the quiz to begin at 8 pm.The Fisherman’s also hosts Knit and Natter on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, starting at 10.30 till noon. The pub also has a skittle alley and some outdoor games available. Don’t forget that Fish and Chip nights are still on Friday from 7.pm. The Mobile Library will be visiting on the 24th this month.
Earlier last month our school organised their first ever sponsored fun run under the guidance of Mr Vaughan Lloyd, and was timed to coincide with the after school cake sale. The cake stall was set up on the finishing line, not a bad incentive to get home quickly and sample Mrs Hext’s chocolate buns! Well done to everyone who ate cakes, ran and raised money for school funds.
On the 8th of June the Parish Council will have their usual monthly meeting in the hall starting at 7.30 pm. On the 11th of June the W.I will have their monthly meeting in the village hall. The talk this month is “Lost Landscape Recreated” and the speaker is Debbie Flack. Guests are welcome and refreshments are served following the talk.
The Church Fete is on July 11th this year, and the Project Group’s theme this year is Aveton Gifford School through the ages. If you have any photos or books etc to include in the display, please contact Delia on 550298 or Ros on 550792. St Andrew’s will have a lay led service this Sunday starting at 11 am.
