It’s nice to start with some good news this week! Two cocker spaniels that went missing over the Christmas holiday have now been reunited with their owners, who would like to thank everyone for the help that was received in recovering the dogs. The animals were spooked when out walking and ran off.
The weather has been particularly wintry over the last few days and what can be better than a nice hot bowl of soup? In the hall tomorrow the January Soup and Puds will be available for all those wishing to beat the cold weather. There will be a choice of delicious home made soups followed by some lovely puds, again all home made. The price is £5 per person and tea and coffee will be included with all proceeds going to the Village Hall. The event will run between 12.30pm-2pm.
The Classic Car Show committee will have a new look for this years show as former stalwarts Tony and Bea Porter and Tim and Heather Abrahall have stepped down after a dedicated ten years of service to the show. This popular event will take place in the same format as the previous years, and exhibitors are being urged to contact a new email address for entry details which is agpcclerk@gmail.com. I know it seems a long way off but contacts will be made soon to confirm entries, please pass on this information to anyone who has been or wishes to be an exhibitor.
The Modbury Benefice is getting ready to welcome its new Rector, Rev Mathew Rowland and his family. Rev Mathew will become the new priest for the five churches that make up the Benefice on January 17th with a licensing service conducted by Bishop Nick of Plymouth. Members from all of the churches will be present, each with a special task to perform in the service.We are not sure when Rev Mathews first service in A,G will be but I’m sure we will all be looking forward to it.St Andrews will have a Holy Communion service this week starting at 11am.
