Village Voice by Rosie Warrillow, 13th April

The Deer Wood Trust’s  contributions to our mAGgie  magazine has proved very popular and the trust will have a Bluebell open weekend at the end of this month, when members of the public will be able to go and visit these beautiful flowers when they are at their peak. Dogs will be welcomed on leads, and the dates are April 28th -29th, opening times are 12pm-5pm on both days. Deer Wood Trust is a not for profit charitable organisation aimed at conservation, education, and benefits to the community, and wider environmental  issues.Every one is welcome at the open weekend just contact Lisa on the Trust’s Facebook page if you are travelling by car, as parking is limited.

Dinah wishes to thank everyone for their support over the last five years at the shop. She urges everyone to keep using the shop, it’s very much use it or lose it! She also wishes to thank Miriam for all her help during the time she was at there, and also wishes to thank everyone for her retirement gifts. There is a framed map of the parish for sale in the shop, if people are interested; it has been kindly donated to raise funds for the shop. There have been some new opening times posted up – Monday to Friday 8am -5pm; closing for lunch from 1-2pm; Saturdays opening from 8.30am-1pm;  Sunday opening 9-11am. The Post Office counter will be open Mon-Thursday only but the electric  key  top ups are available every day.

AG Film Festival will take place on May 12th in the village hall, at 7.30pm. The deadline for entries is the end of this month, so there is plenty of time to make your film. Tickets are now available from the village shop, adults £4 children £1 and film makers going free. This is a great fun filled evening  for our community and definitely something to look forward to.

St Andrews will have a Matins service this week which starts at 11am, with John and Karen Rowse leading. Everyone is welcome and there are refreshments after the service.
