The weather has been simply glorious this week and I would like to extend a welcome to the many visitors we have in our Parish at the moment. With the weather so nice, it is time to think about gardens and gardening once again. Our church St Andrew’s, will be having a Plant Sale and coffee evening on April 28th April. This is a Friday evening and the event will start at 7pm, in the village hall.. There will be many different types of plants , all locally grown, to enhance any garden and there will of course be refreshments served, coffee and cakes and biscuits. A lot to look forward to and of course, raise funds for our church.
Our Rector, Rev Neil Barker will be retiring on Easter Sunday and he will be leading the Family Communion service in St Andrew’s, so please join us for this lovely service and bid Neil a fond farewell from all of us here in A.G. Good Friday (today) there will be a Way of the Cross parade through the village, with readings, hymns and songs starting at 10.30am at the Fisherman’s Rest. Everyone is welcome to join the congregation members, and there will be a short service in church followed by refreshments and Hot Cross Buns.
Our consultation weekend last week proved to be very popular with lots of the village population turning out at the village hall to view the presentations. Housing and transport proved very popular with lots of post-its attached to the boards. The full report on the event will be heard at the next Parish Council meeting on May 1st, which will be at the earlier time of 6.30pm, as it’s also the Annual Parish meeting straight afterwards.
