Village Voice by Rosie Warrillow – 18th November

Last Sunday was of course Remembrance Sunday, and A.G residents and visitors alike gathered at the War Memorial to pay their respects to the fallen of two World Wars. The weather was kind and blue skies were overhead as  the Act of Remembrance began with the introduction by Michael Tagent. The names of the fallen were read by Mr Brian Yabsley, and the poppy wreaths were laid by representatives of the British Legion, WI and the Parish Council. The Primary School had been to the church and laid their wreath on Friday morning, the eleventh hour on the eleventh day, the eleventh month! The Churchwardens led the congregation into church in time for the last post and the two minute silence. The readings were read by members of the British Legion and Mr Tagent gave the sermon. The service ended with the National Anthem.
