The ladies of the WI met last week in the village hall, and amongst the topics discussed was last month’s coffee morning; the amazing sum of £104 was raised for club funds. Thanks were said for all those who helped organise the event. This month the ladies had an interesting time as Stephen Harding came along to talk to the ladies about film making, and showed the group some of the films from past Film Festivals. Mr Harding then helped the ladies make a short film for the upcoming festival aimed at recruiting more members for the club. This month’s flower of the months results were; 1st Rosie Warrillow, 2nd Maggie Skeates and 3rd Meg Brett. Next month’s meeting will take place on Thursday May 17th at 7.30pm, and its the clubs AGM, why not pop down and see what the ladies can offer? There will be lots of lovely refreshments.
It’s spring time, and it does seem to be the season of AGM meetings. The Parish Council’s Annual meeting will take place on May 14th at 6.30pm, with a much curtailed council meeting. The AGM will take place after that at 7.30pm. Refreshments will be served at the meeting and all of the village organizations are invited to submit reports on their progress during the year, and members of the public are invited to come and listen and see how everyone’s got on during the year. If you have a report send it to Peter Javes at peter.javes@btinternet.com
