Two of A.G,s favorite residents are about to embark on an epic journey. Pippa and Bonnie Unwin are going to spend September walking, yes walking from A.G to Dover to raise funds for two very important charities. Pippa is supporting Open Hearts and Open Borders Charity, she has already done a lot of work supporting refugees in Greece and little Bonnie will be walking to support the Blue Cross Animal Rescue charity, where she was first seen and then adopted by Pippa and her family. These two intrepid ladies are looking for our support in the form of sponsorship and they have created a Facebook donate page to do just that. What a trip they have in store, their progress can be followed daily on the Facebook page, good for you ladies and good luck.
Pictures of the class winners from the village show have now been posted on the village website and Facebook page. Vegetable section winner was Alan Cherry, Julie Cripps won the flower section and the domestic section,Ann Neal won the craft section and Jay Lodge won the junior section, well done to all of  you!
Two of our gentlemen residents have been hard at work in our community recently. Ed Tarr has done a wonderful job of repairing the stream bank just outside of Brook Court. The bank had become unstable due to the action of water and was impassable. It is now looking wonderful and most importantly safe once more, well done Ed on a good job well done. Peter Smith has also been working on a section of the stream bank that had become overgrown and was restricting the flow of the stream. He removed overgrown vegetation and all sorts of rubbish, and now the water is flowing better and less likely to cause a problem during any stormy weather. Well done guys, you are stars!
Dinah wishes to thank everyone for their kindness towards her and her husband John recently. John has now had his heart operation and has been moved out of the High Dependency Unit on to the ward . He still has a long way to go in terms of his recovery but he is progressing well and hopefully will soon be back to us here in  A.G.
