Village Voice by Rosie Warrillow, 27th October

This years shop A.G.M will take place at the Fisherman’s Rest on Friday November 3rd at 7pm. The shop is, of course a very important part of our community and the Annual meeting is an ideal place to air your views about the shop and its future. Dinah will retire next spring and Charlene will then take over, please come and support them as they talk about the future of our shop.

Bridle way no 21 in the Parish is at the moment off limits as work is being carried out to try to cure the problems that poor drainage has made over the years. Hopefully the  work will be completed soon and the walking surface will be much improved.

Maggie Skeates will be holding a coffee morning at the Fisherman’s on Saturday November 4th  starting at 10.30am in aid of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. There will the usual stalls, a Grand Raffle, and of course the all important refreshments. Please come along and support this wonderful event and raise money for the RBL. If anyone can offer any help on the day, it would be much appreciated.

There  are some wonderful Pilates classes taking place in the village hall on Thursday evenings and there are a few places left. Pilates is a great form of exercise to develope core stability, improve joint mobility and to gain an awareness of posture and alignment. Each session concentrates on the main principles of Pilates and everyone can try it out. Please contact Lisa for further details on advaenturesonapage.com/pilates. The classes are between 6-7pm and are priced at £1.50 per session.

Pippa and Bonnie are still raising money after their epic walk to Dover and you can contribute on uk.virginmoneygiving.com/pipwin.until the end of the month.

There has been an important anniversary during this week, our friends at the Fisherman’s Rest are celebrating 15 years at the pub, so well done to  Mark and Athena and Chris and Ray, thank you for all you do for our community!

There is no service in St Andrews this week because there is a Benefice service at Modbury which will start at 10.30am.
