Village Voice by Rosie Warrillow, 8th December

The festive season has now started in our community!! AG’s Festive Lights switch on last Saturday was without doubt the most spectacular seen, with many people turning out to sing carols in the cold evening air. Everyone enjoyed the singing and at last the great moment arrived, the Christmas countdown to the switching on of the lights; it came complete with snow from a snow machine which had young and old beaming with delight. Into the Fisherman’s everyone trooped to sample mince pies and mulled wine, what a festive treat! Entertainment followed which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. It will be hard to top this wonderful celebration!.

Our  Primary School will have its Christmas Fayre tomorrow in the village hall and the school. There will be  toys, bric-a-brac, books and all the usual trimmings for this fund raiser for our school PTFA. The event will start at 2pm till 4pm., there will also be a  Christmas Hamper raffle. Please come and support it.

St Andrews Church has a full calendar of events for the Christmas period. On Sunday December 17th   there will be a Family Carol Service, starting at 11am, lots of  favourite carols, candles and fun! Why not come with your family and friends? On Christmas Eve at 9pm, there will be a Carol Praise Service again with lots of  family favourites, and the handbell ringers will add some festive charm. On Christmas morning there will be a Family Communion with Rev. Ian Eglin at 11am.
